A large Kent grammar school founded in 1637 has become the latest recipient of a gifted defibrillator from the national charity RALPHH.
The Norton Knatchbull Grammar School in Ashford is state-funded and has grown considerably in the number of students over recent years. It has developed a strong reputation for success in sports such as hockey, football, rugby and tennis, competing across Kent. In support of sporting activity RALPHH (Robert Allen Life Promotion and Healthy Hearts Trust) was pleased to donate an additional defibrillator to be kept on school premises.
The presentation to Headmaster Ben Greene (left) was made by one of the charity’s trustees Connor Rawlins, who was a student at the school until 2022.
The School has shown its gratitude to RALPHH by planning a fund-raising day this coming February, when students will be able to attend in alternative clothes than uniform.
Throughout 2024 RALPHH has had its busiest year, helping gift or provide financial support for defibrillation equipment in both schools and sporting clubs. It is the hope of the trustees that more schools will make contact to boost their own safeguarding of students and visitors in their sports locations.
